Title Match

The winner of the British Championship was decided by the title match, a best-of-five match between the defending champion, Matthew Macfadyen, and Matthew Cocke, the winner of the Challenger’s tournament. This was Matthew Cocke’s third challenge. He also challenged in 2002 and in 1999.

Winner of the open section was Andrew Morris (1 dan Lancaster). Second was Baron Allday (1 dan West Wales). Winner of the handicap section was Ed Blockley (2 kyu Worcester) on 5/5 .

There are more than 60 countries who have official organisations and take part in the annual World Amateur Go Championship.
