Yunlong Liu, 3d, a temporary student in Scotland, won the 42nd Wessex Tournament in Bath. He beat the defending champion Andrew Kay by 2 points in the final. The only other player of the 30 participants to win all 3 games was Dylan Carter, 2k, from Cardiff.

Andrew Kay, representing the UK, placed 22nd in the 6th KPMC in Pohang Korea. He beat Morocco, Slovenia and Hong Kong, but lost to France, Canada and Thailand to win 3/6. Also winning 3/6 below the dan-bar was Ireland's Rory Wales in 49th place.

A belated welcome to 3 new UK Clubs: Grimsby, Llansannan (North Wales) - now moved to Abergele - and Northampton.

Also, welcome back to the resurrected club in York and the reopened location in Edinburgh following a fire earlier this year.

There have also been some venue changes for Birmingham, Milton Keynes and Leeds in the last few months, so don't forget to check the [club list](/c

Apologies for the delay - the highlights of the Council meeting held in March and July have now been posted online. Minutes of all Council meetings are available to BGA members by contacting the Secretary.

The next Council meeting is being held on 6th November 2011. Please contact a Council member if you wish to raise anything for discussion there.

Meets Thursday evenings (though can meet on other evenings) - until there is a core regular attendance I'll meet by arrangement, so don't just turn up. I have 3 decent 19-19 boards and sets, and also 13-13 and 9-9 boards.

Directions: 
Coming from Chester direction on A55, leave at Junction 24 (for reference, MacDonalds on right at roundabout) and take the first exit. This leads into Abergele. Go through first set of traffic lights (T-Junction to right)- The Departure Lounge is almost immediately on the left. There is parking on the opposite side of the road, but my preference is to park at Abergele library and walk up. Library car is reached by driving past The Departure Lounge, through next set of traffic lights (T-Junction to right), and the library and car park is on the left up ahead, just before the pedestrian crossing. Past this you will see the mini roundabout for Tescos.
