Jonathan manages computers for the Isaac Newton Institute for Mathematical Sciences in Cambridge. His interest in Go began at university, with the discovery, in a secondhand bookshop, of Kaoru Iwamoto's introductory guide to the game. He attended the local Go club and soon got to dan level.
Barry first encountered Go at 6th form after a friend found it in Lasker's Go and Go Moku. They played on a vertical maths classroom chequered chalkboard.
At Oxford Freshers Fair he found a Go club, even two. Too many names to mention from that period - but Matthew was still a kyu player in the first year and mostly taught Barry up from beginner to 6 kyu.

Suggests and encourages publicity and teaching stands at various external events.
Also provides support to anyone who wants to run an Exhibition, giving advice, sharing experience, providing kit and leaflets etc
The Archivist looks after our Archive which contains material relating to the history of the Association, including old minute books, and most English-language Go publications. The job includes maintaining an inventory of the contents of the archive. Please contact the Archivist before sending new items for inclusion in the archive.
