Encourages the formation of new Go clubs where needed and provides support and advice to new and existing clubs.

Its other primary responsibility is maintaining a healthy membership level by ensuring that attractive services are provided to Association members.

The Membership Secretary also looks for possibilities for formation of new clubs and provide contact information to those wishing to do so. Labels are provided for the despatch of mailings to the membership and currently despatch is arranged of the British Go Journal.

I first encountered the game of Go way back in the 70s. A colleague at work, a keen chess player, one day brought in a Japan Airlines leaflet about the game and suggested we try it out in our lunch break.
