Online league site now taking subscriptions via PayPal

Tournament Name:
Online Leagues
Venue:
KGS
Tournament Date:
1 January 2012 - 31 December 2012

The BGA online league site now accepts payments of subscriptions via PayPal.

Subscriptions are £15 for each team plus £5 for each non-BGA member in the team and £10 for each Individual League player or £15 for a non-BGA Individual League Player. Approximately half of the subscriptions will go to prizes, for the team winning division 1 of the Team League and for the winner of each division in the Individual League, which are named after the late Xinyi Lu. The Xinyi Lu prizes consist of credits in Guo Juan's online Go School. The winning team in Division 1 of the team league will receive prizes of the GoGoD Database and Encyclopaedia as well as retaining the GoGoD shield for the following year.

You do not have to have a PayPal account to use the payments system, just a major credit or debit card (regrettably Amex cannot be accepted).

Anyone with an account on the online league site can pay the subscription for a team, or for any player currently registered to play in the individual league.

To pay the subscription, select the "Pay subscription" menu item on the league website at http://league.britgo.org (you must be logged in to see this). Select the team or individual league player for whom you are paying and click the "Pay" button. If you are a team captain, the team you are captain of will be preselected if no subscription has been paid. If you are an individual league player, your name will be preselected if your subscription has not been paid.

Once you have done this, you will be taken to the PayPal site and you should follow the process from there.

Please note that the first time you enter, you may receive a security message warning you about the possible security threat of the site (this is because we have opted not to get a paid-for SSL certificate). You may review the details and confirm that the site is genuine. It is safe to "Confirm Security Exception" or whatever your browser invites you to do.

We apologise for the failure to collect subscriptions for previous years and we trust that users will find this system convenient and easy to use.

For those who prefer to use "more conventional" methods of payment, it is still possible to send payments to the treasurer, Toby Manning. However, this causes more work for him and the League Organiser, so both of them would prefer you to pay online.
