Venue: Grand Palais Lille, Lille, France
Eligibility: Amateur players nominated by the go organisations to which they belong. Nominations must be submitted to the tournament office by July 30. Youth participants must be born after August 20, 1991.
Competition: Five tournaments (men’s individual, women’s individual, pair, team, youth). Each tournament will include five MacMahon rounds, followed by semifinal and final rounds for the top four. The schedule allows a player to participate in up to three of the five tournaments. Medals will be awarded in each of the five tournaments.

The current schedule can be seen at https://intergofed.org/documents/2nd_wmsg/2ndWMSG_Schedule.pdf
Since there is now a Youth Competition we especially need nominations/volunteers who fit into this category (see above). Please contact Jon Diamond ASAP to register interest in this (or the other categories).
Note: On August 10-12, a number of invited top European players will participate in a qualification tournament for the 2nd SportAccord World Mind Games to be held in December in Beijing. This qualification tournament is not part of the World Mind Sports Games, but the invited players may stay on in Lille to play in the World Mind Sports Games as well.
On the weekend of August 18-19 there will also be a special five-round tournament organized by the European Go Federation, not part of the World Mind Sports Games (no medals), but open to all players without restriction.
