Candidates'

Part of the British Championship, held to select most of the players who will compete in the Challenger’s League.

In order to play, players must be British (or long-term residents), active in tournaments and of a certain level. In the past shodan and kyu players had to earn places at tournaments, but now players are selected by rating (1900+ at a tournament in the year ending at the British Go Congress). Qualifiers are listed here.
