Our poor run of form continues, but this time we have a really tough match against the table-topping Finns.
Vanessa again had problems with connecting to Pandanet-IGS and dropped out at the last minute, leaving Jon Diamond on top board to face Antti Törmänen (7 dan on Pandanet), who's just had a fantastic result in the World Students Oza, coming third. It went to form with Jon doing fairly well, but misplaying a little during some fights in the middle game had to do a lot, overstretched, and had to resign.
Andrew Simons faced the 5 dan Juri Kuronen and had a close game, ending up as the loser by 5.5 points.
Des Cann tried hard against Jesse Savo, another 5 dan, but lost a big group without enough compensation and after struggling on for a bit lost one of his corners and resigned.
David Ward, filling in at the last minute, also had problems with the IGS client software and by the time he loaded another client and got online his opponent said it was too late and so was awarded the result.
We're still bottom of the league and now have to win our last two matches to stand any chance of avoiding relegation.
