This web site is hosted by pair Networks, on their normal commercial terms. It is over 10 years and was revamped in spring 2008 to operate using Drupal.
Drupal is a free and open source modular framework and content management system (CMS) written in the programming language PHP. Drupal, like many modern CMSs, makes it easier to create and organise content, allows easy site searching, provides menus, and manages site contributors.
The pages on this website are maintained by the Webmaster and his team. The team is specified below.
The team endeavours to keep the information which they present up to date and as true as is possible, to the best of their knowledge.
However there is a large body of information here, and some of it may be mistaken. There are also no doubt numerous omissions of information which the webmaster has never received. If you notice any errors or omissions, please notify the webmaster, specifying the page which needs correcting. The team then will make the necessary changes.
The webmaster would like to take this opportunity to thank those, too many to list, who have already pointed out errors on these pages, and who have provided new information. These pages would be much sparser and less helpful without their contributions.
If it ever happens that there is a dispute about the truth of a statement on these pages, the webmaster will refer this to the President and Council of the BGA, and will accept their decision.
These pages, particularly the ones giving product reviews, also express opinions. If you feel that an opinion on these pages is unfair, please write a page giving your own opinion, and either put it on your own website or send it to the webmaster to be hosted on the BGA site. The webmaster will place links to your page from the page with which you disagree.
The British Go Association is not responsible for the content of other websites, even if this site links to them.
The BGA considers that the purpose of a website is to convey information, rather than to show off the designer’s technical abilities.
The BGA website index is not just a collection of links (often called an ‘index’) to sites other than the BGA's. Instead, its entries and subentries lead to specific information (no mere passing mentions) within the BGA website.
Non-BGA websites and pages are included as entries/subentries if there is some relevance to British Go (for example, results of a tournament hosted elsewhere, a Go club’s home page, Go topics which are discussed on BGA web pages, and so on).
Maintenance of the site index is regularly being done. Please inform the indexer if
The indexer welcomes any discussion about indexing and web indexing in general, as well as Go indexing in particular.
Information on the website committee is now on the list of officers.
