This new competition started in late 2010 and replaced the previous European Team Championships. It is played online on Pandanet (IGS) in its own room called "EuropeanTeamChamp". The League is supported by Pandanet, and they also support the top four teams attanding over-the-board finals at the European Go Congress.

The British Go Association has entered a UK team under captain William Brooks. Matches are four players a side, made up of available players from the registered team. The league is split into three divisions by average rating of the best team members. The UK is in the B League. Games are played every three weeks or so.
