BGA Online Tournament: July 2020

Following our first online tournament in May, we're going to hold another in July with slightly different format.

This time, the tournament will take place on a single day, on Saturday July 25th, with 3 rounds.

There is an entry fee of £5 per player and prizes will be awarded as Amazon vouchers (value of prizes will be dependent on number of entries).

Eligibility

This tournament is open to BGA members only.

(One stipulation of EGF rated internet tournaments is that all players must be a member of an association)

Format

• 1 day, 3 rounds
• McMahon pairing
• Japanese rules, 6.5 komi
• Games will be played on OGS: https://online-go.com/
• Time limits: Fischer Time: 40 mins + 10 sec/move
• EGF Rated: Class D
• Initial McMahon score will be set by EGF rating by default

Please note that it won't be possible for people to change the time of their game this time, due to fitting 3 games into one day

WhatsApp Group

We are continuing to use a WhatsApp group that we created for the last tournament to allow players to chat socially. Joining this is optional, and whilst we may post some notifications in the chat, all updates will be sent to players by email so you won't miss out on anything if you don't join this group.
