Here are the winners of each age group at the annual British Youth Go Championship. The name highlighted in bold is the overall champion for that year.

Matthew Cocke, who won three youth titles in the 1980s, went on to become one of the strongest Go players in the country. As of 2013 he is 5-dan and represented the UK in the World Amateur Go Championships in 1997 and 2002 (both in Japan), and the first two World Mind Sports Games at Beijing in 2008 and Lille in 2012. He was the Challenger for the British Championship in 1999, 2002 and 2003.

Other former youth champions who have gone on to become dan players include Sam Perlo-Freeman (3-dan), Sam Beaton (2-dan), Chris Dawson (1-dan), Jimmy Mao (1-dan), William Brooks (3-dan), Michael Webster (2-dan) and Jamie Taylor (1-dan).
