The two players were Daniel Hu (5d) who was equal second in the Open, and Bruno Poltronieri (3d) equal fourth. The match was arranged for Saturday 27th Novermber at a private location in Cambridge and the game got under way about 12 minutes after the advertised start time of 10:30.
Daniel got Black and played an interesting opening style which was much enjoyed by the fifty or so spectators on the KGS relay. Former Champion Andrew Simons also broadcast a spoken analysis of the game on combined KGS and YouTube. The players broke for lunch after move 62 between 13:30 and 14:30 and then continued into the afternoon, the game this time being played with Fischer time of 100 minutes plus 45 seconds per move.
