UK Draw with Top Team Italy
The fourth match of the B-League season, on 7th Jaunary, was a draw against Italy who are at the top of the table. A good job by our winners Damen and Jake! That kept the team in seventh, in the bottom half of the table but in the safe zone. Round 5 will be on 4th February against Lithuania.
Damen Woo wrote about his game against Alessandro Pace: It started with a good opening, I got a decent lead and kept it until the end.
Jake Game wrote about his game against Carlo Metta: After an opening that was probably bad for me, I got very lucky in a capturing race despite making some errors.
Bruno Poltronieri wrote: I lost my game to Davide Minieri by resignation. It was a pretty bad game where I fell far behind in the first fight and just couldn't catch up, despite quite a few overplay attempts!
Jon Diamond wrote about his game against Davide Grasso: As usual I started by over-attacking and then lost some 7 stones, but with decent compensation, so not all bad. A large moyo then emerged for me, he managed to create a small live group, but I got a compensatory fight. However, I must have made several mistakes and so lost enough stones, to lose the game by resignation.
