UK Draw with Belgium
The sixth match of the B-League season, on 25th February, was against Belgium. Three games were played the day before at Belgium's request, with wins for Scott Cobbold and Bruno Poltronieri, but a loss for Jake Game. On the Tuesday Michael Cheung could not clinch the win and so the match was drawn. It left the team in fifth place. Round 7 will be on 18th March against Serbia.
Michael Cheung wrote about his game: I played as black aginst Lucas Neyrinck and lost by 8.5 point. In the opening, I chose variations that are rare to see but I have researched with AI before, it leads to a very early fight. However, I forgot to make an important exchange, which leads to a big disadvantage suddenly. The sitatuion was quite hopeless considering my opponent's level, but probably as this is an online game, his move was also not very flawless and I was able to make some moves in his territory. However, I still can not manage a comeback for the game.
Scott Cobbold wrote about his game against Jan Ramon: In the beginning I felt I gained a slight lead after he tried to attack my stone but ended up losing a few of his own stones, later in the game a complicated fight happened, after which his huge dragon died.
Jake Game wrote about his game against Lucman Bounoider: After a super fun game I ended up losing. Seems the game was playable for a long time, but the left side grew too large after a bunch of fighting.
Bruno Poltronieri wrote: I won by 45.5 against Kevin Prist. The game was even until he played a stone too close to my strength on the top left. This started a series of fights where his groups gradually fell apart.
