Candidates' Tournament
Saturday 30th April - Monday 2nd May. Chadwick Room (under the dining room), Selwyn College, Grange Road, Cambridge, CB3 9DQ. For qualifiers only (all British players who are members of the BGA with rating above 1899 from a tournament April 2010 - March 2011). You will be sent a letter of invitation. However because of the royal wedding on that weekend, you may wish to book your accommodation early. You can check online if you qualify. 6 round Swiss tournament. 90 minutes time limit with 20 moves in 5 minutes overtime. Registration 09:15 - 10:00. Each day, rounds at 10:00 and 14:15. The Candidates this year was in a new location within Selwyn College. It was in the Chadwick Room just below the Selwyn College refectory.
Following on the teaching success last year, Matthew Macfadyen was again on hand to analyse your games in your free time. We started games every day at 10:00 and 14:15, so there was time for valuable analysis.
We were able to get refreshments during opening times of the refectory (am) and in the afternoon we had use of the kitchen in the Walters room across the main courtyard.If you have qualified, and if your current email address is known to the BGA you will shortly receive a letter of invitation.
