Contributions are always welcome, both from our members and others. We ask that they be Go-related and "newsy". The place for debate and general discussion is the BGA open mailing list Gotalk. However, an introduction to a new topic is fine in the Newsletter. A brief introduction to Gotalk, with a link for joining, is on the BGA page Go on the Internet.

Instructions for Contributors: Please use plain text not file-attachments. Keep it fairly brief, and give web-links and contact details. It's good to include pictures. If they are on the internet, send me the URL, otherwise attach the picture files to your email. Send your contribution to newsletter@britgo.org to arrive by the first day of the month.

Pandanet Go European Team Championship

The second match of the C-League season was against Slovenia. Scott, Alex and Jamie all won, but Bruno lost, meaning the team won 3-1. South Africa also scored a second match win to put them top, with us just behind in second. More details here.

Pauline Bailey

From Pauline's son Steve. "Pauline passed away peacefully on 18th November. She hadn't been to a tournament for several years, but was still playing on Dragon until very recently. She was 99."

49th London Open Go Congress, 28th-31st December 2023

This is a seven round tournament rated EGF Class A with side events: Lightning Go and Pair Go.
The professional-in-residence will be Cătălin Țăranu, 5p. He will be available for reviews, advice, etc. He will also give two lectures and review the final game of the top board.
