Directions

Travelling by car from the M4

At junction 10 on the M4 take the A329(M) towards Reading. Take the first exit and follow signs to Winnersh (not Winnersh Triangle). Turn right at the first roundabout with lights and left at the second with lights. At the third, larger, complex roundabout, again with traffic lights, turn left following the signs for Wokingham and Winnersh A329. Keep straight on on this road for some time (straight on at all the traffic lights). After about 2.5 miles turn right at a large roundabout signposted to Woosehill and Supermarket. The Community Centre is first left, but the car park at its rear is very small, so it may be best to take the second on the left into the Morrisons supermarket, and park in the car park away from the shop entrance. After parking, walk back to the left past Morrisons and down the steps to get to Woosehill Community Centre.

Travelling by car from Bracknell

From Bracknell take the A329 towards Wokingham and Reading. When the dual-carriageway is about to turn into the A329(M) Motorway turn off following the signs to Wokingham A329. Turn left at the junction roundabout and travel into Wokingham. After about 1 mile the road bends left and you enter the one-way system in Wokingham town centre. Move to the right hand lane and follow the signs for Reading A329. After emerging from the short one-way system keep straight on following signs for Reading and Winnersh A329. About 1 mile out of Wokingham town centre turn left at a large roundabout signposted to Woosehill and Supermarket. The Community Centre is first left, but the car park at its rear is very small, so it may be best to take the second on the left into the Morrisons supermarket, and park in the car park away from the shop entrance. After parking, walk back to the left past Morrisons and down the steps to get to Woosehill Community Centre.

Travelling by Train

Travel to Wokingham railway station. This is on the lines between London Waterloo and Reading, and Guildford and Reading.

Note there is planned engineering works at Ascot and trains from Waterloo will be replaced by buses from Staines. Great Western trains on the Reading to Guildford line are not affected.

The recommended train should arrive as follows on 13th May:

  • 09:25 - departs Paddington 08:30 via Reading 09:18

We expect to be running a ferry service from Wokingham station, meeting the train arriving at 09:25. If you miss that we may be able to meet the 09:56 arrival as well. If you fail to get a lift you can take a taxi - Ask for Woosehill Community Centre or Morrisons in Woosehill - approximate cost £5.00. Alternatively you could walk.

If you exit the station by the north entrance, by the main station building, turn left and follow the approach road to the traffic lights on the main road (Reading Road). Turn left and follow the road, crossing Oxford Road and stay on the footpath or follow the service road. Turn left when you reach the steps by the large roundabout and follow the footpath through the trees. When out on the road again, take the first turning on the left (Emmview Close) to get to the Woosehill Community Centre.

If you exit the south side of the station (the Oxford Road side), turn right and follow Oxford Road westwards until you get to the main road at a T-junction. Turn left into the service road. Turn left when you reach the steps by the large roundabout and follow the footpath through the trees. When out on the road again, take the first turning on the left (Emmview Close) to get to the Woosehill Community Centre.
