The tournament was held (weather permitting) in December and replaced the Scottish Bar-Low. 2020 was cancelled; in 2022 it moved to September, from 4 to 3 rounds, and became known as the Edinburgh Open until 2024. From 2025 it reverts back to the Edinburgh Christmas tournament.
