This is the 6th season of a team competition played online on Pandanet (IGS) in its own room called "EuropeanTeamChamp". Pandanet sponsor the League and the top four teams in the top division attending over-the-board finals at the European Go Congress.

The UK team is captained by Sandy Taylor. Matches are four players a side, made up of available players from the registered team. The league is split into three divisions, originally by average rating of the best team members, but with promotion/demotion from last year. The UK is in the B League, following promotion last year. Games are played every three weeks or so.

The 36th WAGC took place in the Montien Riverside Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand. Unbeaten winner was Kim Changhun of Korea. China's Hu Aohua was second and twelve-year-old Lai Jyun-Fu of Chinese Taipei was third.

The UK’s player Des Cann lost to France, Malaysia and Sweden. He won his fourth game against Spain, but then lost to Finland and Cyprus. He beat New Zealand in round 7, before losing to Norway in round 8.

James Hutchinson, representing Ireland, beat Azerbaijan and Belarus, before losses to Switzerland and Cyprus. He then beat Portugal and Costa Rica, before losing to Mongolia and Lithuania.

This is the report for the first EYGTC. Since then, the UK has fielded teams in each season. The UK had a national youth team in the first European Youth Go Team Championship, that for 2014 - 2015.

This was played online on KGS over five rounds on Saturday afternoons between November 2014 and February 2015. 13 country and regional teams took part.

We had a national youth squad of 12 players, under BGA UK Youth Squad Manager Alison Bexfield, from which we selected 5 players for each match, one of whom must be U20, two U16 and two U12. Well done to the 12 players who were selected and took part:
