20th - 22nd August 2006

Part of the Isle of Man Go Week

Welcome to the home of the European Women's Goe Championships 2006

The British Go Association and the Isle of Man Go Club were delighted to host the Championships in 2006.
It was held alongside the Isle of Man Go Week and allowed players to join in the other events and be part of a bigger gathering of Go fans.
The tournament was be held in Port Erin on the Isle of Man.
The venue was the Cherry Orchard Aparthotel less than five minutes from the sea.

The tournament took place on Sunday 20th, Monday 21st and Tuesday 22nd August.
There was 5 rounds: 1 on Sunday and 2 rounds on Monday and Tuesday.
The tournament used Ing Rules and will have A-class time limits (main time 1 hour).

The Isle of Man is full of interesting things to do and see, such as seaside, countryside and steam trains all within five minutes walk of the venue.

The Women's ran alongside the Isle of Main main and afternoon tournaments, so accompanying friends could play Go whilst the women were playing. In the evenings and on other days women could join in the other Go Week events too.

Affordable accommodation was available near to the venue in various hotels or very cheap on the floor of the local Scout Hut (bring your own sleeping bag).
