This web page - http://www.britgo.org/clubs/chs - is on the British Go Association (BGA) site. It shows info. that relates specifically to CHS' school Go club. It shows what's coming up & is of interest to CHS students. As at 3 June 2021, CHS Go Club is not meeting formally, because of Covid concerns. However, some pupils still meet to play Go. Please ask Mr Winslow, Mr Barnett or Mr/Mrs Harvey for any latest news.

Summer Residential Camp

Monday 16th to Thursday 19th August 2021 Note: we've retained the usual extra day, as it has twice proved popular. Venue: PGL Caythorpe Court, Lincolnshire. This is an annual event, started in 2017. In 2019, 26 youngsters attended, Y7 to Y12, including 12 from CHS. This is BGA-run trip, as opposed to a CHS trip. Mr +Mrs Harvey & 3 other BGA adults (all fully DBS-vetted) - including Alison Bexfield, the UK Youth squad captain - will run Go-teaching sessions, and 4-6 outdoor activities will be run by PGL staff. Contact Mr Harvey with any queries, on martin.harvey at britgo.org

CHS Ranking List

Please take a look at the CHS Ranking List, to see where CHS players now stand in Europe
- e.g. by the time the then-top CHS Go-player - Tom Bradbury left for University in 2019, he had reached 2-kyu and thus became the first from CHS to enter the Top 2,000 'EGF-placed' (European) players - out of all 45,000 Professionals, adults & youngsters! [I wonder who will be the second from CHS !]

Usual comments:

  • see the Junior Grading List for grades of all under age 18, who have played in a recent tournament & are 30-kyu or stronger (apologies if it's not bang up-to-date - it's a constant work in progress!)
  • see the Youth Grand Prix if you've played in a 2021 tournament;
  • see the Annual DDK Grand Prix for players no stronger than 10 kyu at the start of this year;
  • see the BGA Calendar for full details of events listed above (& those that aren't).
  • ask Mr Winslow [Head of Physics] or Mr/Mrs Harvey if you have any queries, e.g. re Go badges, transport, how to improve, what to read (esp. CHS library), Go on YouTube, buying equipment, getting Go leaflets, forthcoming events, foreign tournaments ... you name it!
  • see the BGA junior section for all UK Youth news.
